In a statement, the group welcomed political parties’ positive response to the peace talks offer and said that it should not be taken as a weakness.
The statement added that the US and India have gained influence over Pakistan which is harmful for the country.
It further said that the Tehreek welcomes every step which leads the country towards peace and prosperity.
The TTP had earlier expressed its willingness to enter peace negotiations with the government if three senior politicians – Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Jamaat-e-Islami amir Syed Munawar Hasan – acted as guarantors.
On Thursday, Nawaz advised the government to take the offer seriously and immediately start the talks. Fazl had also welcomed the Taliban offer.

@Mika: FSA is winning, Asad's family is on the run now now why should it ask for dialogues
ohh well now kharijis will tell us what to do... they are murderes of innocent pakistanis.. they brought unnecssary hardship on our countrymen ... shame on them ..
The nation should grab this chance to bring peace and reduce the influence of America and India. Such chances don't come often.
If you want to stop bloodshed, it is easy enough. Stop killing innocent PAkistanis to impose your distorted version of Islam on them.
the three are evil circle of talibanization in pakistan
No talks.
NO talks with the TTP they want to buy time to get better organized and rebel again. they should be nuked and that's it.
first pay the price of crimes you have commited against innocent Pakistanis and then talk about peace...you must be punished for your brutal crimes against humanities. Justice must be serived, first, God willing.
What am I to do? They call for peace, they call for violence. It's so damn unfortunate it's their call. We surely are the only country with such a big dedicated budget to defense with nuclear weapons where terrorists call the shots and borders are so crudely protected, Americans walk in whenever they feel like it (albeit for a good purpose).
Problems are a part of all countries but there is always something to be done about it. The depressing air that hangs today about the future of Pakistan in minds of average Pakistanis stems more from the fact that they can do nothing about it than from the problems itself. A democratic Government completed it's tenure and all I can say is "Thank God it's gonna go now" and must have wished for the continuation of Musharraf's time. Doesn't mean I am not democratic. It simply means what Anatol Lieven in his book so succinctly put "Democratic parties in Pakistan are (far) more dictatorial than Military regimes". Setting aside all the political correctness, I believe that it's the truth. When things go bad I don't care about how suffering through a PPP's democratic tenure is "strengthening" democracy. It's a farce.
The book "Why Nations Fail" clearly argues that essentially that political structure and it's effectiveness is so damn important that it eventually is the deciding factor being the failure and success of any particular nation. If I am to believe that argument, I lose all hope.
Despite of what anyone might say, education is the root cause of all problems and our dear old generals are way too busy looking for profitable ventures (like creating new DHAs) to pay any serious attention to the masses.
In the end like most others, I look for an opportunity to leave my country. It's not easy so I start convincing myself that Anderson's argument in "Imagined Communities" that a nation is a socially constructed community, imagined by the people who perceive themselves as part of that group.
@Jadugar: Aameen.
@Mika
well said... specially the Syrian part!
After killing hundreds of innocent citizens and destroying Pakistan, you guys are talking of " no bloodshed " Just who in the world will believe killers and murders like you, The only place TTP can WIN is in Hell.
who will believe on killers of inocent peoples of the pakistan and world?
Islam is the Religion of Peace which begins first and foremost within us, with our Peaceful and Nonviolent Thoughts.
So many time these TTP terrorists have violated peace agreements. They are not men of their words. they should surrender otherwise, should be brutally killed. They have killed so many innocent Pakistani citizens. Why we should talk with killers?
Hold on. I thought there was no such thing as TTP Punjab? Now they are elder statesman?
LOL look who"s talking!
TTP Punjab Chapter??? So TTP is quite an organized party in Pakistan. i guess they will soon announce "Intra-Party Elections" according to the directions of EC and might field candidates in coming elections too. O GOD......
TTP-P
Nawaz shareef has had good influence on these characters
Look who is talking! and who is supporting?
It is very thoughtful of TTP to bring back peace in Pakistan. Charity begins at home therefore, the first step they should take is to stop killing of innocent people, soldiers and start talks without putting any pre-conditions.
If history is to be believed and if Pakistan is to be taken out of violence then logic says that the TTP must cease to exist, otherwise Pakistan will always be blackmailed by them.
"In a statement, the group welcomed political parties’ positive response to the peace talks offer." When peace process is started then this is much the best but when in peace process these words "it should not be taken as a weakness" are used then this is definitely makes your intentions for peace abstruse,esoteric and suspected and proves that you want peace only on your own terms and conditions not in the atmosphere of give and take and reconciliation manners......
Are the TTP feeling the heat now or they also do not want the elections to take place ? Am soooooo confused!!!!!
The tone really changes when the TTP is loosing. Same is the case with Syrian death squads asking for talks.
