ISLAMABAD:

The teachers of model colleges of the capital on Thursday remained divided over their demands and means of protest.

Among other things, the teachers are asking for a separate board for model colleges and promotion for their colleagues.

On February 4, the Central Academic Staff Association of Islamabad Model Colleges observed the protest by wearing black armbands and notified it to Federal Directorate of Education and Secretary CAD. “We informed the administration about the phases of the protest but they are just tight-lipped over the issue,” said Tariq, the president of the association.

On Thursday some six model colleges boycotted the classes at 11am and refused to continue the evening shift. On the other hand, teachers of the other colleges termed this strike useless. “This strike is just an attempt to disrupt educational process,” said one of the teachers at G-6/3 college.
