Formula one: F1 sign Emirates as global partner

Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone signed off a deal with Emirates that would see them being appointed as its Global Partner.

Chairman and Chief Executive Emirates Airline & Group HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum and Ecclestone announced the five-year agreement starting with the imminent 2013 season. The press conference took place at Emirates’ headquarters in Dubai.

Initiating at the Grand Prix in Malaysia, a number of historic circuits such as Silverstone in Great Britain, Monza in Italy and Interlagos in Sao Paolo, Brazil will feature the distinctive Fly Emirates branding.
