MULTAN: Students of the Bahauddin Zakariya University’s Physics Department protested on Thursday against the police’s failure to arrest the culprits who attacked one of their teachers a few days ago and deprived him of his car and other valuables.

The protesting students rallied from the university to Bosan Road and shouted slogans against the police. They demanded that the police arrest the culprits in 24 hours. Alpa police said they were looking for the robbers.

They said a few days ago some robbers had stopped Dr Ijaz, chairman of Physics Department. They snatched his car and cash and beat him up before they left. Dr Ijaz was left on the roadside, from where he was taken to a hospital by some passers-by.

The incident was reported to Alpa police station, but no one has been arrested so far.
