Nowshera: Militant attack on police post repulsed

NOWSHERA: Over a dozen militants attacked the Malangi police check post in Nowshera late Wednesday evening.A police official stationed near the check post told The Express Tribune that the police engaged the attackers in a gunfight.

The police were on patrol when the militants sneaked into the check post situated in the jurisdiction of Nowshera Kakan police station. When the patrol returned the militants opened fire and a gun battle ensued that lasted over half an hour. The attackers fled after police reinforcement reached the check post. The official said he was with the police party that had reached the Malangi check post. There were no police casualties, he said.
