KARACHI: All government-run water hydrants are to be fitted with hidden cameras and have their water distribution records computerised, said the Managing Director of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) Misbahuddin Farid.

The hidden cameras will record water tankers’ number plates and the date and time of their arrival and departure. These measures are being implemented in order to meet the increasing demand and to improve KWSB’s revenue.

He said that all government hydrants would only operate for eight hours.

That is shocking... not that fire hydrants are being stolen but that they actually have water in them in Karachi. I am lost for words.
