The son of Pakistan Peoples Party MNA Sher Mohammad Baloch was arrested for allegedly beating the reservation officer of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi.
The incident reportedly took place early on Tuesday, when Nauroz Mohammad Baloch, 24, visited the airport to get a PIA ticket. It was not immediately clear exactly what provoked Nauroz, but he ended up beating the national flagship carrier’s reservation supervisor, Allah Dino Jatoi.
The incident caused panic among PIA staff members, who closed down the reservation office in protest. The Airport police was called in and given Baloch’s custody. The reservation office was later opened for the general public after senior officials of the PIA and the airport administration ensured the airline’s staff members that they would investigate the incident.
SHO Abdul Ghaffar Korai told The Express Tribune that Airport police, acting on the victim’s complaint, had registered a case against the MNA’s son for beating and injuring a government officer, and interfering in the government’s work. Jinnah International Airport manager Nasir Sheikh said that the police were investigating the incident, but he had no idea about what direction that would take.
The reservation supervisor, Jatoi, claimed that Baloch initially misbehaved with him when he told him about a delay in the flight reservation process, and later started beating him. I fell unconscious and my colleagues shifted me to a hospital for treatment, he said. “A uniformed, on-duty officer was assaulted. I will never forgive this boy for what he did to me,” said Jatoi.
The father of the accused, MNA Sher Mohammad Baloch, told The Express Tribune that if the accusations were true, then his son must have been provoked by the PIA official. He said that he was going to Islamabad, but his flight had landed in Lahore for some unknown reason. I called up my son in Karachi, and told him to reserve a flight from Lahore to Islamabad for me. That is why he had gone to Jinnah airport. “My son is a patient [boy], but he can be rash when someone misbehaves with him.” The PPP leader said that the PIA officer was ignoring his son and delaying the process, which led to a heated exchange between them.

@A. Nabi Baloch: Read it carefully my friend and be realistic. It's an equation. :) "MNA"s not local Sindhi or Balochies were referred. What landlords (vaderas) are doing as MNAs in government? Because they are influential who don't even pay taxes? They shouldn't be superior of any that even their sons are abusing and beating government employees. Remember that lady MNA as well who slapped an official at a local poll not long ago? Having a seat in parliament do not make them gods.

Many comments sympathizing the violent protest due to deficiencies of service (non courteous / rude behavior while dealing with customers / public). there should be civilized protest ( non violent) by complaining, by a sting operation recording the rude behavior and its highlight in media, they will love it) transparency in the dealings makes the service better. We must learn to protest too civilly else a wrong message goes in the society.

Ask some one, on the common man's street, what are the sufferings of people / common man in pakistan at the hands of public offices.
The such behaviour / attitude / frustration grew up only in those socities where the public offices/ ruling people are unable to perform their duties. i.e to safeguard the basic rights of citizens. which include but are not limited to; safety, self respect, employemnt, health, education and a conducive environment to promote the well being of the citizens. But what our ruling people (in abroader perspective) do?
so in my view one person did the wrong in response to the wrong of another person.
becuase as a society /nation we are heading towards deterioration of human values and loosing the sense of what is wrong and what is right?

Im not a waderay ka beta but to be honest I have thought about beating the PIA staff numerous times because their performance is frustrating. Often I would be standing in line for quite a while and some personnel would come through the back door and get their work done while we rot in the lines. But obviously I couldn't do that without getting into trouble so I dont.. ;p
@zameer People who vote for Vaderas don't read Express tribune rather they can't read Express tribune, nor do they have access to such things like Computer, Internet etc. in their lives. Uneducated masses is one of the biggest root causes of Pakistan being left so far behind in all respects. Thats why these Vaderas don't want the poor people to be educated, because once the people are educated they will know the truth.
While PIA staff are generally rude and discourteous, it does not give the right to anyone to beat a customer service representative.

I don't think the people of this country realize but every thing said on the social media against the Baloch people is documented and used as evidence that the people of Pakistan "hate" Baloch people. Umer actually requested his son's trial to be handled by the next caliph (who the next caliph was not yet decided at that point). After his death, the tribunal decided to give blood money to the victims and released Umar's son Ubaidullah on the ground that after the tragic incident of Umar's assassination people will be further infuriated by the execution of his son the very next day. Logically, under Umer's caliphate, his son should have been punished by death according to shariah as he sought out to randomly massacre all Iranians (muslims included) simply because an Iranian attacked his father. But once he died, his son was treated favorably due to his father's recent death. Either way both Umer and Uthman failed to discharge their fundamental duty in an unbiased manner. I only state recorded factual history to point out anomaly in your previous statement.
I grew up with Mr. Sher Mohammed Baloch. To describe Mr. Sher Mohammed Baloch as a wadera is totally misguided. He is not a wadera and nor does he belong to a family that are landowners in Karachi. However, he is one of the founding members of PPP, however, clearly he and his family has benefited from PPP rule for last five years. As far as PIA staff is concerned, they have not been very efficient either. Personally, MNA is a very humble man and came from very modest economic background. As far his son is concerned, he should be treated like any other citizen in court of law.

why only blame him.Even normal people behave like this sometimes.His only fault seems to be that he is the son of a big man.We dont know how the PIA staff behaved with him.So it takes 2 to tango.
Wadera / Chaudhary / Khan and titles like this, is /was respectful titles for honoable and honest persons, some people now describe it wrongfully. What about the treatment which public/people faces at the hands of public offices, any honest and respectable citizen may be offended by it.

Sher Muhammad Baloch who is in the transport business is a born and bred Karachite from Malir as is his son. He won his seat from NA-258 , Karachi-XX. The use of the terms Wadera to describe all and sundry who have an attitude problem is incorrect and shows a lack of understanding of the term and what it means.

False claims won't change the historical fact, the traial was ordered while Umar RA was on death bed. He also punished his own son for drinking alcohol by whipping him, some says his son died cuz of that punishment. Problem with your lot is two-fold, you hate anything muslim and you hate pakistan. Hazrat Umar (RA) ordered from the death bed that his son to be imprisoned and trial to be done. Just to be fair to Waderay ka beta, what transpired at the airport may have have been provoked by the airline offiicer but the way it was handled was just not civilised or lawful. It was certainly an animal like behaviour which must be condemned and this wadera kid should be put behind bars if found guilty and be subject to same spanking and manhandling as well as mental trauma which normal Pakistanis get.
PIA staff is normally courteous at the counters. One should not disgrace them for every technical or operational hitch that hampers good customer service. However, genuine complaints of poor customer service need to be reprimanded but not in a shameful manner as adopted by this Waderay ka beta who took it as his birth right.

Your sympathy with the violator speaks the mindset . An ordinary PIA employee dared to ignore the writ of the so called ruler in hierarchy ( did not pay the required attention to the would be parliamentarian who still perceives themselves as ruler) deserves to be taught a lesson.. .How about a proposal to provide a card at govt. cost displaying the identity of son / wife of law maker placed on their head beeping a signal of beware, to avoid such incidents..
A feudal father only will behave to distort the incident reporting justifying the son's behavior (blaming the employee ). instead of ridiculing him. So the reason why the son behaved in a particular manner is quite understandable.

Your Royal Highness the MNA, please define meaning of patience in and also meaning of rash in your dictionary. It may be that he will be patient if someone is pampering him and submitting as a servant in front of him. And he will be rash to the extent of beating anyone and can go to the extent of killing that person. Do not cover the misdeeds of your children; we all know the attitude the children of these landlords have. The hands that have been raised on that government official today because of arrogance can be raised on you when they feel you are useless!
Soon huge and unknown sum of money would be paid to the PIA guy and the case will be removed. Don't worry it is Pakistan Police doesn't care to uphold law as their prime obligation. Let me bet maximum 15 days more and this matter will be resolved between parties.

Reminds me of Hadrath umar, who was approahced by qubti's of egypt to complaint abt then gov of egypt's umro bin-al-aas son who had whipped one of them for no reason. Umar called back gov and his son set the trial and found the son guilty. He then handed the whip to qubti's and ordered them to whip the son as per punishment, while they whipped him, umar grabbed the gov and threw him on top of his son and asked the qubtis to whip gov too because his son did the misdeed relying on his father's position as governor.
This is the way to deal with these waderas n powerful ppl, their progenies feel entitled if punishment to be given to both you will see dramatic improvment in thier behavior.
Although I believe the MNA's son is to be blamed here, but one must take into account the performance of our national airline. Frequent delays, pilots landing planes in other cities to drop off their daughters etc. I myself was once informed by the PIA staff at the Lahore airport that my flight to Karachi had already departed, 45 minutes before the scheduled departure, as they had changed the plane and were flying a much smaller plane on the route. Therefore, the passengers who were already present in the lounge were allowed on the flight. The level of frustration has grown manifold among our general population. It is good to see that our rulers are also now getting frustrated by their own policies. We are surely but slowly moving towards anarchy.

The Chief Justice of Sindh High Court may take Suo Motu action on this violation of human rights by the high and mighty of our society. Thank Allah the PIA official was not shot and killed. Democracy is the best revenge with the poor teeming masses of Pakistan. Look how the government PPP party is silent on this issue. Even Altaf Hussain is also silent who always claims he is the friend of the poor masses.

Yeah right, your son can be rash because he is the son of a MNA. The nation has paid such a high price for democracy that not only politicians but their sons can do whatever they feel like. A day will come when MNAs son will be sentenced and I hope that day is today.
