Resting [not] in peace: Three men held for demolishing graves

They might be selling the skeletons to medical companies and individuals practicing black magic, says SHO.

KARACHI: Three men, Wasil, Arif and Bahar Ali, were arrested on Monday for defaming graves in Ismail Goth graveyard, Sharafi Goth.

SHO Akhlaq Ahmed explained that the suspects used to work at the graveyard which was more than 50 years old.

The government banned further burials in the graveyard 10 years ago as it was overflowing with graves, he added.

The residents informed the police that the three men were demolishing the graves.

They might be selling the skeletons to medical companies and individuals practicing black magic, said Ahmed.

He also mentioned that a case has been registered against the culprits under Section 297 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
