KARACHI: The Pakistan women’s cricket team manager Ayesha Ashar has said that her team will come out with all guns blazing in their group B do-or-die match against South Africa today in Cuttack, India, with the Super-Six berth at stake.

The women in green have been on a losing streak so far in the tournament as they have had to face back-to-back defeats against Australia and New Zealand, scoring paltry totals of 84 and 104 respectively.

“We’ll go out against South Africa firing all cylinders to win the match,” Ayesha told The Express Tribune. “It’s been a difficult tournament for us so far as the wickets haven’t been as good in Cuttack as they were in Mumbai — a perfect batting paradise.”

However, sahe said that the morale in the camp was high since they had recently defeated South Africa in a one-dayer and that they had what it took to give their best when the situation demanded it.

“Obviously the situation is difficult for both teams but the girls are really charged up to stay alive in the event and go through to the Super-Six stage.”
