Highway crash: 17 hurt as tanker collides with coach

Seventeen people were injured on Sunday when a passenger coach collided with a speeding oil tanker.

SUKKUR: Seventeen people were injured on Sunday when a passenger coach collided with a speeding oil tanker on the National Highway. The accident happened near the Tando Masti bypass in Khairpur as the coach was travelling from Karachi to Lahore. The injured, including Faisal Ameen Arain, Bilal Ahmed and Mohammad Shoaib Mughal, were taken to Civil Hospital, Khairpur. Thirteen of the victims had sustained minor injuries and were released from the hospital after treatment. The police has impounded both vehicles. The driver of the oil tanker, however, managed to escape before law enforcers arrived at the site of the accident.
