KARACHI: World Amateur Snooker Champion Muhammad Asif's unbeaten run grounded to a halt in Sangsom Mukdahan Snooker Tournament when he was beaten 4-1 by local Thailand cueist Pisit Jansri on Saturday.

This was Asif's first loss after winning a record 13 matches in a row, including his ten wins in the ISBF World Snooker Championship in Bulgaria early December.

Faisalabad-born Asif only won the penultimate frame of the semi-final before going out 64-29, 85-34, 131-0, 51-57, 69-27.  Pisit carved out a smart break of 78 in the third frame.

The Pakistani cueist's trip to Thailand was fully funded by the Billiards and Snooker Association of Thailand.
