The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has set September 24 as the deadline for universities to complete the verification process for degrees.
The fake degrees issue has been dragging on for quite sometime now. According to sources, the degrees of 50 parliamentarians and senators have been proved fake while 376 degrees have been verified as genuine.
Earlier, the universities were given a deadline of August 25 but they could not verify the degrees due to the unavailability of the required academic credentials of lawmakers.
