Target killing: Man gunned down by assailants

SHABQADAR:


Two unidentified motorcyclists opened fire at Rahmatullah on Shabqadar-Mohmand Agency Road near Kajor market, said a Shabqadar police official Wilayat Khan.


Rahmatullah, 25,belonged to Ambar, Mohmand Agency, and according to his brother Jahanzeb Khan, had no personal enmity. The police filed an FIR against unidentified assailants.


After the killing on Wednesday morning, security in the area was increased and two suspects were arrested. Sources in the agency said the victim volunteered with the Ambar peace militia, which might have led to his murder.


The miitia has previously lost members as a result of target killings in Peshawar and Karachi. No one has claimed responsibility for Rahmatullah’s death as yet.


In a separate incident on Wednesday evening, Yousaf Khan was killed by an unidentified assailant in Daryab Korona. Yousaf was on his way home from Shabqadar Bazaar in a rickshaw when the incident took place.
