Outbreak Worsens: Three more children fall prey to measles

Current Sindh epidemic causes 500 deaths in last two months.

The death toll due to measles continued to climb in Sindh, as three more children reportedly died due to the disease in Ghotki and Jacobabad on Tuesday.


According to some statistics, the current epidemic in Sindh has caused over 500 deaths in the last two months, with over 300 of them been reported from Sukkur and Jacobabad districts.

According to reports, three-year-old Rashid Ali Lashari, a resident of Hazar Khan Lashari village, and two-year-old Aisha Bhatti, resident of Raheem Abad Colony in Thull in Jacobabad district died due to the viral disease. Four-year-old Yusra Lund died in Nazar Ali Lund village near Mirpur Mathelo in Ghotki district.

Meanwhile, Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz activists observed a token hunger strike in Mirpur Mathelo against the health department’s failure to control the epidemic.
