Pic deaths: Advocate general to present report

The CJ ordered the advocate general to ensure the report was filed by February 4.

LAHORE: Lahore High Court Chief Justice (CJ) Umar Ata Bandial on Tuesday ordered the government to present the report on the findings of a judicial inquiry and implementation of its recommendations regarding the deaths caused by reaction of drugs provided to patients at the Punjab Institute of Cardiology. The CJ ordered the advocate general to ensure the report was filed by February 4. The court was hearing a petition filed by Advocate Azhar Siddique submitting that the report had not been acted upon. He said there was a need for a thorough investigation and fixing blame. He added that licences of pharmaceutical companies manufacturing substandard medicines must be cancelled.
