Almost two months after lifting the world amateur snooker crown, Pakistan’s Mohammad Asif returned to action with a century break and straight-frame win at the Sangsom Cup 2013 in Mukdahan, Thailand.

The world champion showed no signs of rustiness when he outclassed local cueist Bundit Kiewsuthi 4-0 to advance into the pre-quarterfinals of the tournament.

According to the Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association, the top cueist secured the first two frames 67-39 and 68-23 before smashing a century break to win the third frame 128-122. He outclassed his opponent in the final frame 70-37 to seal the win.

Asif was invited as a wild-card entrant in the tournament by the Billiards Sports Association of Thailand. The Faisalabad-born cueist will play his last-16 match tomorrow.
