Two Pakistan Air Force personnel were among three people gunned down at the Pasni port city on Monday morning — an incident condemned by Governor Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi.
The military men were shopping at the Zareen Market in Pasni when unidentified armed men on a motorcycle opened fire on them, said SHO Hamam Baloch while talking to The Express Tribune. As a result, the three men, including the shopkeeper, were killed. Another air force official accompanying them was injured.
The airmen were identified as Muhammad Ibrahim from Skardu, Khurram Shahzad from Rawalpindi while the shopkeeper was identified as Elahi Bukhsh, a resident of Mashkay. The injured man was named Nabi Shah.
Police and law enforcement officials rushed to the spot and cordoned it off to preserve evidence. The deceased and injured were taken to Civil Hospital, Pasni, and a case has been registered against unidentified men.
The military men had not informed the provincial administration about their plan to shop in Pasni city, said Sher Akbar Baloch, a tehseeldar, while talking to The Express Tribune.
“The law and order situation is not good [there] and we had told air force personnel to inform the administration before visiting so that they could be given the necessary security.”
Governor Magsi has ordered the commissioner of the Makran Division to submit a report on the incident.
