ISLAMABAD:

For the people living in sectors F10, G10 and E10, getting complaints registered should no longer be an ordeal.

The Islamabad police’s latest effort to facilitate people materialised on Monday with the inauguration of a new reporting section in Shalimar Police Station.

Inspector General (IG) of Police Islamabad Bani Amin Khan inaugurated the section, which is equipped with the state of the art equipment, according to a press handout.

The handout said that “educated and well-mannered staff” would man the station. A separate counselling centre has also been set up in the police station, to help resolve minor disputes without the need to register a case.

The IG said it is the police’s responsibility to protect people’s lives and ensure a crime-free society.

He said he has directed all police stations to improve their performance and to utilise their energies to serve the people.

“The best possible work environment will be provided to the Islamabad police, so that they can perform their duties in a responsible and dignified manner,” he said. He said that they are working to eliminate corruption completely from police stations.
