IED explosion: One killed, two injured in Mardan blast

A police official said the explosives went off at around 8pm, killing a security guard.

MARDAN: A security guard was killed and two others injured when a bomb planted by unidentified militants near the residence of businessman Samiur Rehman exploded in Par Hoti on Friday night.

A police official said the explosives went off at around 8pm, killing a security guard who was on duty at the time. Police reached the site along with the bomb disposal squad (BDS) and launched a search operation. However, no suspects have yet been arrested.

Rehman is an industrialist whose daughter is married to the son of K-P Governor Barrister Masood Kausar. He is also a relative of Awami National Party leader and former parliamentarian Haji Naseemur Rahman.
