Islamabad Additional Sessions Judge Rafaqat Ahmad Khan Awan on Saturday awarded the sentence to Muhammad Rafiq Awan and fined him Rs265,000, along with ordering compensation for the victim to the tune of Rs1.465 million.
On Dec 4, 2010, the Shalimar police registered an FIR against Awan after he entered the house of a woman identified as Mrs Rafiq and threw acid on her face, causing serious burn injuries on her face.

he deserves capital punishment
The cruel men who throw acid on the faces of women do not deserve any sort of mercy.
The government should legislate that any one buying acid from the open market should first apply to the police to get permission and the police should give prior clearance to the prospective buyer in writing which should be double checked by the acid seller whether the letter issued by the Police is genuine or not.
Well let us hope another idiotic court does not over turn this decision. Furthermore these sort of acid attackers should have acid thrown back into their own faces, so that it could be a lesson for other would be acid attackers.
