Atif Baig scored a sensational hat-trick to help Police beat Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) 6-4 in the National Hockey Championship yesterday.
Waqas Umer, Bilal and Jamil scored Police’s other three goals. Afsaar Ahmad (two), Noman and Hamid bagged the goals for KP.
Elsewhere, HEC registered a comprehensive 5-3 victory over Sindh. Zeeshan Akram scored a brace while Adil Zaman, Baber Hussain and Umar bagged one goal each for HEC. Sindh’s Juniad scored twice while Waseem got their third. In the second match of the day, PTV and PAF played out a 1-1 draw. PTV’s Adil Karim opened the scoring in the 15th minute while Shahbaz equalised in the second half.
