FAISALABAD: The Environment Protection Department (EPD) on Tuesday directed the district headquarters (DHQ) hospital administration to close down its burner which they declared unfit for use. Deputy District Officer (Environment) Farhat Abbas Kamoka issued the orders. He said he and his team made a surprise visit to the district headquarters hospital last week and found that the hospital was not disposing its waste properly. He said the burner was not working properly and was poisoning the air. He said 1,000 used syringes dumped without being broken had been seized from the burner site. He said the hospital did not have an incinerator.
