ISLAMABAD: In response to Dr Tahirul Qadri’s demands made during his long march, Leader of the Opposition Chaudhry Nisar Ali announced three conditions on Tuesday on behalf of his party Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N).

Speaking to the media in Islamabad, Nisar presented three demands and said that the Punjab government will not let Minhajul Quran International (MQI) chief Qadri’s demands be fulfilled until PML-N’s demands are met.

Stating the demands, he called for early elections and said that the elections should not be held in July. Nisar said that the election campaigns were being delayed in order to prolong the election dates. Secondly, he said that the month’s time frame given to scrutinise candidates for election should not be as long.

Lastly, he said that the candidates for a caretaker setup should also be nominated from Sindh and Balochistan. Nisar said that these two provinces were ignored and that they should not be overlooked any more.

The PML-N leader said that the Punjab government will not let the assemblies dissolve until these conditions were accepted.

Matter of forming new provinces should not be politicised

Nisar said that the new provinces in Southern Punjab will only be made on people’s accord, not on some “Makhdoom’s wish”.

He said that that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) was only trying to politicise the matter and that the party and its “cronies” were not even interested in making new provinces.

The PML-N leader said that it was his party that initiated the idea of making new provinces.

One thing i would like to state is that no matter how much people of Pakistan mock and character assasinate Dr Tahir ul Qadri. They have to admit that Dr Sahib shaked the whole corrupt political parties of Pakistan, they couldnt even sleep at night and most shocking is that all the parties united to defend corruption. These people cant unite to defend aggression against Pakistan by India, USA but when it comes to their seats, they can unite within a few days. Complete shocking to me but shamefully i realised that Pakistani people can be taken on a ride by the media and political parties and thats why they completely forgot about the corrupt practises of PPP PMLN all of sudden and started to attack Dr Tahir ul qadri. Maybe we deserve leaders like these, after all leaders come from the awam. I think we all need to make our minds up and fight for a change in Pakistan. We want elections according to the constitution of Pakistan. A big NO for all these corrupt parties.and those people who say the march was not worth it, need to get their head checked up. I mean just look at the reactions of the corrupt political parties. They stil dont know what hit them, for me the big thing is that atleast alot of the awam has realised these guys can be removed. This is what is scaring them politicians.

With assemblies dissolved before March 16, elections to be held within ninety days will fall before middle of June. Even that date can be advanced if assemblies are dissolved earlier, in order to avoid delaying elections. As for scrutiny time, while emploing even junior employees, the employers take about a month vetting candidates, checking references, etc and here is this gentleman who thinks one month is too long for selecting persons who are supposed be guiding the destiny of the country. As for the caretaker setup, it should be selected on the basis of merit and not on some quota system, or sympathy basis, especially at such an important juncture in the history of Pakistan. I am surprised people with such thinking could get elevated to a senior position in one of the two major parties mis-governing the province with 65 percent of the total Pakistan population. No wonder we are in the mess that we are in. Karachi
