An anti-terrorism court on Monday remanded into police custody four police personnel, including three Crime Investigation Department (CID) officials for seven days.

The police officials were detained on January 20 over allegations of involvement in kidnapping for ransom cases.

One of the accused, SP CID Tariq Manzoor, said that the case was fabricated and was intended to hinder the CID’s investigation of missing persons’ cases.

“We are being falsely implicated because the CID issued arrest warrants for four intelligence officials,” he said.

He added that the charge-sheet for these cases was to be presented to the Supreme Court on January 28.

Manzoor reiterated that Abdul Qadoos, the person who was allegedly kidnapped by the policemen, was involved in narcotics smuggling.

Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Mir Zubair Mehmood confirmed the involvement of the three police officials in the kidnapping incidents.
