aa, your doctor's analogy is misleading....let's try a sports analogy, that of tennis. Our veteran tennis player Aqeel is not a professional and plays a few ITF challenger tournaments a year, so does his younger brother Jalil. These ITF challenger tournaments are for players who are not ranked high enough to play in the professional ATP tournaments. A professional tennis player like Aisam plays doubles in the professional ATP tournaments, another example of a professional is Federe who plays in ATP singles.
For snooker the most prestigious championship is the World Snooker Championship played in teh Crucible Theatre in Sheffield every year and champions include modern legends like Ronnie O'Sullivan and John Higgins. The IBSF world championship which Asif won is for amateur players who are not good enough to play in the professionals' league.
you guys talking about this? http://www.ibsf.info/rankings.shtml
@Goran: going by your theory....if you pass in india that is small achievement and if you pass in usa that is bigger....if that is logic then indian doctors are ordinary, petty and mediocre...not to be proud of......!!!!
good win, however, the country rankings are for Amateurs only and Asif won the Amateur World Championship not the Professional one, the standards are which are much higher.
