QUETTA: A condolence reference was held at the Quetta Press Club on Saturday to pay homage to three journalists, including Saifur Rehman Baloch of Samaa TV and Imran Sheikh and Muhammad Iqbal of NNI, who were martyred in the twin bomb blasts of Alamdar Road on January 10.

The condolence reference was organised by the Council of Balochistan Editors (CBE) and was attended by journalists and people from different segments of society. Addressing the occasion, CBE President Dr Nashnas Lehri said that they would never forget the martyred journalists who lost their lives in the line of duty.

“We pay tribute to our slain journalist brothers who demonstrated bravery while discharging their professional duty,” he said. Saleem Shahid, the president of Quetta Press Club, said that Balochistan, where 32 journalists had been killed in targeted killing incidents and bomb blasts over the past five years, has turned out to be the most dangerous zone for media personnel.
