A five-panel team of doctors said that the death was a suicide because no resistance or torture marks were found on his body. The team has sent samples to the forensic lab for further investigations.
The final forensic report of the death will be compiled in one week, which will reveal whether Faisal took any anti-depressants pills that led to his suicide.
Faisal’s family has rejected the report insisting that he was murdered and he had torture marks on his body.
Faisal, who held the position of assistant director at the bureau, was found hanging from the ceiling fan in his room at the federal lodge number 2 on Friday. He was one of the officers looking into alleged kickbacks by Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf in transactions involving rental power plants when he was power minister.

Shedding innocent blood means malcontent in the cooking pot. Of course, why should anybody care? It is a norm nowadays. As long as the poor man dies, why must anyone break wind.
The rich man is safe and thinks so. He will run away with his ill-gotten wealth to America, UAE, England, France, Saudia, etc. and a poor widow will wail, orphans will cry for 'papa' and old parents will try to comfort them and grieve silently.
NAB has blundered. Fasih Bokhari appointed a nobody to handle a sensitive case. It proves that institutions cannot think on the lines of their Memorandum, Articles, and SOP but prefer to thrash about like a fish out of water.
Why in the first place are retired service personnel appointed to high and responsible positions in Pakistan? They are not angels?
Salams for 2013
It's ridiculous to hear all these conspiracy theories. We should trust in our institutions and their findings.
@Shah: Shah sahib, Kamran's body has black and blue marks from shoulders to lower back. This only happens when a person is alive, struggling to get away from a rope on the neck and the murderer is behind him. ALSO his right wrist has mark of a rope around it, as somebody holding him, ALSO his right arm has contusions and bleeding in the tissues. Obviously he was held, struggling, when a second person was squeezing the life out of him, with a rope around his neck. At least 2 persons have to owerpower him. IT IS AMAZING that 6 trained doctors can not see this & uneducated villagers in Mian Channu can see it. I have no doubt that the doctors gave the report, they were told to. They also could be murdered if they did not agree. We know that poor will not get justice in our country, but some day we will all stand infront of ALLAH SWT. The truth can not be hidden that day. FEAR ALLAH & dont be a stupid.
Big fish has begun playing with tidal waves.
democarcy is the best revenge!!!! :(
As the main individuals involved in the RPP corruption are the PPP stalwarts, the self styled Human Rights torch bearer, Asma Jahangir will never raise her voice for seeking justice for this honest officer.
killing someone brutally will not highlight your sovereignity nor you can stop the mouths of truth. How cheap doctors are to cover someone`s crime for some bundles.
@Kamran Faisal Shaheed:
No one would disagree that Kamran Faisal is real shaheed who was died for the noble cause and fighting against the corruption.
I will pray for his soul rest in peace. Ameen
This is always done when someone rich comes in to the hands of the law. Their case is given to some young, poor man with no influential background for investigation.
One thing is settles that this government can do anything to quel any voice against it. How long will CJ fight with wolves
Normally when the suicide is suspected the forensic specialists looks at the body for abnormal marks including needle marks and take blood samples for sign of drugs that may have incapacitated the individual. They normally pay attention to the immediate surroundings. Look for unusual item that may include things not in its place, micro contamination etc. These doctors likely do not have any background in forensic. Likely someone wanted to send the message to others to stay clear. He is dead and no one is going to speak out loud because he is a little man a common man. I request the CJP to take up the case and call in foreign experts and take his blood sample for drugs and high definition pictures of his body for any needle marks.
The murderers shall pay. And they'll regret this. For taking a life. For blood staining this land and deceiving time and again.
Murder, democracy style!
As more reports emerge, there is increasing suspicion of a foul-play: (1.) Why NAB staff broke into the deceased’s room before the arrival of the police (knowing that he was already dead; NAB staff is supposed to know the law better than others)? (2.) Why a post-mortem examination was conducted hurriedly (the board may have names of some general specialists but were there any eminent forensic medicine experts, forensic pathologists and toxicologists present? Most likely NO! They could have been asked from Rawalpindi Medical College nearby or the King Edward Medical College not very far either.) (3.) Why/how come the deceased’s uncle is claiming to have seen torture marks on the deceased’s limbs? (4.) The deceased was reportedly in communication with friends and family and didn’t show any suicidal tendencies but perhaps stress/pressure from certain quarters? (5.) With over six years of service in NAB and FIA under his belt, it is highly illogical and absurd to suggest that the deceased was new to the job or unable to handle its stress. (6.) Why no FIR has been registered so far? Is law in Pakistan left for the poor only? An FIR can be registered even on the report of a police official and must be done asap. This tragedy warrants a judicial inquiry and probably now an exhumation by a medical board of eminent forensic medicine experts, forensic pathologists and toxicologists to determine the actual time, cause and circumstances of death. The perpetrators of this heinous crime and the corrupt must not go scot free.
history will repeat itself, a PM, who will be an ex-PM shortly will be indited in this person's murder. it is just a matter of time... May Allah rest his soul in peace... such murders always happen around the world but the real justice will be done once it is known who ordered his assassination and then brought to justice...
@elcay: CJ has equal blame to share, as well the NAB Chairman. The deceased got squished between the clash of the titans. He wanted to get off the case, but the CJ was forcing him to stay. Tragic!
"A five-panel team of doctors said that the death was a suicide because no resistance or torture marks were found on his body."
Does a suffocation leaves any mark on the body???..
There could not be other postmortem report, but confirming suicide, when footprints of killers are found near PM House. Nothing will happen, only hush up .
Liaquat Ali Khan committed suicide, Bhutto committed suicide, Benazir Bhutto committed suicide, Bhutto son's committed suicides, Bangladesh also committed suicide, Mr. Zia committed suicide, every explosion suicide, ……..Why not the whole nation should commit suicide because there is no space for Nobel, Honest, Hardworking and Powerless people. The history of Pakistan has been written every day with new chapters of shame, corruption and inhumanity.
No need of any Commission. Just ask General Mushy. His answer will be that India did that. Case closed, now back to work.
Welcome to Pakistan. In another news Ajmal Pahari is also released. Be careful Karachities.
Suicide or murder... one think is evident i.e. This is nothing but award for speaking the truth............. Khuda k liye. Ab to jagooo Behissssss Pakistaniyo.
Keeping in view the nature of this case and the stature of the peopled involved in plundering billions, this is for sure a murder and not a suicide case. With Fasih Bukhari as the NAB chief and Mr. Rehman Malik as the Interior Minister, the murderers of this honest and innocent officer will never be brought to justice.
they killed him, to warn others... no one try to prosecute this Raja Rental mafia..but Raja rental sahab... your days have been counted.
I hope Asma Jhangiir will demand judicial inquiry as she pretends to be champion of human rights
An independent judicial commission should determine all the facts. Otherwise conspiracy theorists will have a field day.
I think family is saying torture marks because when post mortem or autopsy is done. they always cut body's each and every part inside out....and than close the whole body... so because of this there might be some marks!!
Looks like sucide as no one would dare to kill him this way in federal lodges where all top bureaucrats and CSPs reside.
Regards
"death was a suicide because no resistance or torture marks were found on his body"
Suicide by hanging has typical antemortem and postmortem signatures on the body and in the internal tissues and organs of the neck, as well as in lungs, heart, brain, and bowels and bladder, and in clothes.
No resistance or torture marks on the body is not a forensic criteria to conclude that the death is a suicide. ET is poorly reporting a news and /or misquoting the pathologists or the whole autopsy is a hog wash.
Which one is correct?
The death of this high profile case should be properly reported and followed.
In a country where hypocrisy and lies are a way of life this is as believeable as someone saying the Earth is flat.
you can do anything with Money in this country... But Allah is Watching....
Kamran Faisal Shaheed
He is Mature person and doing his job in very good way, And he has the ability to work under pressure and stress and even under unavoidable circumstances,
This is a preplanned murder, not a self suicide, and Government of Pakistan is its Responsible.
I appeal to Respected Judiciary and Chief Justice of Pakistan that they take Suo Moto Action and make committee of Judiciary to investigate this murder,
This is the Murder of Truth and honisty.
A true Pakistani
