Heavy criminal record: Ajmal Pahari released from jail

Ajmal Pahari was arrested for his alleged involvement in more than one hundred cases of target killings in Karachi.

KARACHI: Ajmal Pahari, the man arrested for his alleged involvement in more than one hundred cases of target killings in Karachi was released from Central Jail, Karachi on Friday. 

DIG prisons Nusrat Mangan confirmed his release to The Express Tribune and added that Pahari was acquitted in all the cases registered against him, and was detained at Karachi’s Central Jail under maintenance of the public order for the past four months.

Pahari was arrested by CID’s Anti Extremist Cell in March 2011. His arrest was disclosed during a press conference at Garden Police Headquarters, where SSP Chaudhry Aslam Khan and SSP Omar Shahid said that Pahari had confessed his involvement in more than one hundred cases of target killings.
