The National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) is formulating a labour market information framework in the country.
This will enable Pakistan to introduce a mechanism for collecting and forecasting information about the demand and supply of technically-skilled labour at the national level. To this end, a specialised Labour Market Information Unit is being set up at NAVTTC headquarters in collaboration with the Technical Vocational Education and Training Reform Support Programme
The NAVTTC executive director said the body intends to implement the system that will give a real time picture of labour market demands. “This is a gigantic task involving both public sector entities, working at national and provincial level, and the private sector, particularly enterprises and industry,” he said.
