K-p health services: Free heart and kidney treatment

Rs30 million were approved for seven dialysis centres in K-P.

PESHAWAR: Rs60 million have been directed to hospitals in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) for the provision of free cardiac angiography and angioplasty services to lower-income patients. On the orders of Chief Minister Amir Haider Khan Hoti, the Lady Reading Hospital and the Hayatabad Medical Complex will receive Rs25 million each and Ayub Teaching Hospital, Abbottabad will receive Rs10 million. He directed appropriate patients should be selected after ‘tight scrutiny’ and regular audits should ensure only ‘deserving patients benefit from this facility’. In addition, Rs30 million were approved for seven dialysis centres in K-P. These will provide free dialysis to kidney patients.
