LAHORE: Pakistan team manager Yawar Saeed has ruled out claims of differences in the team and labelled the reports as rumours ‘simply because the team is not winning’.

Pakistan are in the middle of a poor run of form and after losing three Tests against England, lost both Twenty20s and the first two One-Day Internationals (ODIs).

“It happens when the team is not winning, people attribute it to differences in the team,” said Saeed. “I can confirm that despite all the chaos, the team is united and are striving to win.”

Saeed also brushed aside issues surrounding Wahab Riaz following Mohammad Irfan’s selection for the opening ODIs. “Riaz will be interviewed by police today and it’s wrong to think that he was not been picked because he was summoned by the police. We wanted to give Irfan a chance but he failed to impress. And now Riaz or Abdul Razzaq will play Friday’s match [third ODI].” Allrounder Razzaq is likely to undergo an MRI scan for his back injury ahead of the third ODI and his fitness will be evaluated on Thursday, said Saeed.

“We may be able to play Razzaq who was not able to play in the two opening games because of his back injury but his inclusion for the third ODI will be decided on Thursday after his fitness assessment.”
