ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority has sought Expression of Interest from consultancy services to prepare feasibility studies, design preparation and construction supervision of two 100 MW coal fired power plants, sources on Wednesday. The planning of the project is still in an embryonic stage and 100 to 150 kanals and clean water supply would be needed to move the project forward. The sources mentioned that the world produces 60 percent of its power from coal and therefore coal power projects for Islamabad, if they come to fruition, would help ensure smooth and uninterrupted power supply to residents of the capital.
