Cng woes: Transport authority issues new fare list

Transporters across the province rejected the Rs12.8 hike in price and passed on the increment to commuters instead.

PESHAWAR: The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Provincial Transport Authority issued a new fare list for CNG operated vehicles on Tuesday, after prices increased on January 1.  The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) increased the price of CNG to Rs74.44 per kilogramme (kg) in K-P (region 1).  The price was revised to Rs69 in Sindh and Punjab (region2).  Transporters across the province rejected the Rs12.8 hike in price and passed on the increment to commuters instead. The All Pakistan CNG Association also rejected the new prices and demanded restoration of old profit margin. The new fares from Peshawar for commuters in mini buses are: Rs168 to Mingora, Rs282 to DI Khan, Rs131 to Haripur, Rs182 to Mansehra and Rs162 to Abbottabad. These prices take effect immediately.
