
A State Bank of Pakistan official and a bodyguard of Awami National Party leader Bashir Jan were shot dead in separate targeted attacks in Karachi on Saturday.
Forty-two-year-old Fahim Burhan, a grade II officer at the foreign exchange refinance department services of SBP, was shot dead near Jauhar Morr in Gulistan-e-Jauhar within the limits of Sharae Faisal police station.
SHO Raheem Buksh said that according to reports the deceased was in his car when two motorcycle riders intercepted his car, after a brief exchange of hot words the men drew weapons and killed Burhan as tried to run for his life.
A member of Dawaat-e-Islami, Asif Qadri, 31, was shot dead by unidentified men when he was sitting at his gift shop in North Karachi.
Shadi Khan, 40, a bodyguard of ANP leader Bashir Jan was shot dead in a targeted attack in SITE area. Police officials said that the deceased lived in Orangi Town area and was going home on his motorcycle when two armed riders shot and killed him.
