Accident in Multan claims 5 lives

MULTAN: Five people were killed in an accident in Shujaabad area of Multan as a train hit a rickshaw that had gotten trapped on the railway tracks on Monday morning.

The Shah Rukane Alam train was moving from Multan to Karachi. The rickshaw had a seating capacity of five passengers. All five died on the spot.

The people killed in the accident have been identified as the rickshaw driver, passenger Razia, her daughter Tahira and two small girls Samra and Namra.

The railway crossing did not have gates and the rickshaw got stuck on the tracks after which it was hit by the passenger train that was moving at 100 kilometers per hour.
