The witnesses named Shahrukh Jatoi – along with Siraj Talpur – for his involvement in the murder.
Shahzeb was murdered on December 25, 2012 over a petty dispute in Karachi’s Defence area allegedly by Shahrukh.
Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry took suo motu notice of the killing and ordered police to arrest the suspects.
Police managed to apprehend Siraj Talpur, his brother Sajjad Talpur and their cook. However, Shahrukh reportedly escaped to Dubai.
Police had later also claimed Shahrukh was arrested in Dubai and would be repatriated as soon as legal formalities are fulfilled.
Sikandar Jatoi sent on remand till January 16
The ATC sent Sikandar Jatoi, father of prime suspect in Shahzeb Khan murder case Shahrukh Jatoi, on physical remand till January 16.
Sikandar was brought before the ATC in an armoured personnel carrier.
Sikandar’s counsel Manzoor Ansari informed the court that his client is diabetic and is a heart patient after which the court ruled that health facilities be provided to Sikandar.
Sikandar had appeared before the Supreme Court after acquiring a one-day protective bail from the Lahore High Court, however, he was arrested from the court's premises yesterday.
According to reports, Shahrukh ran off to the UAE after he was nominated as the prime suspect in the FIR of Shahzeb Khan’s murder. A police team from Pakistan went to the UAE to search for him but has been unable to arrest him.
Three other suspects of the case, Siraj Talpur, Sajjad Talpur and Murtaza Lashari, are in police custody and have been identified by eyewitnesses for being involved in the murder.

justiceeee for shahzeb khan and killed his killerssssssss .we also suport giving justice fr shahzeb.......
Had the legal formalities been correct in this land of pure and waderas the nearest police station would have taken action to arrest the accused. You are ignoring the fact that Sikander Jatoi is not being held in lieu of his son but for the crime that he helped an accused to escape the country by managing to get the second passport(another offence). Why is Shahrukh running away rather then helping his ailing father who is in the custody of police speaks volumes about his innocence? By showing faith on legal formalities and then giving the argument of letting the legal procedures take their course is opposite to whats happening in this feudal land.
@Jibran: Although I couldn't care less. But you're a bit off when you say he's just his dad, he's already owned up to the fact that the weapon his son carried was registered to his name. Now, in the advanced nations you speak about, ballistics would have sorted this out in about three hours. But from what my colleagues tell me, they have casings, and bullets, but no weapons recovered as of it. So yeah, the priorities within the case itself need to be looked at again...
If justice is to be done it must be seen to have been done and for this matters should not be delayed.
A classic example of mob justice we are getting used to by the day. how can one be declared as guilty even before the trial has commenced.can a father be legally held responsible for the act of his son?any lawyer worth his salt will tell you that firstly this is not legally an act covered by the terrorism laws and secondly no one is remanded to physical custody for such a long period normally.the incident gruesome as it is, should all legal formalities be sidestepped and a different set of laws and procedure be applied just because its a high profile case?
@Jibran: There is no FIR against him? Please go read the FIR for the murder case. He has been named in it. And like I said watch the show he did on express where he said that I have sent him abroad. Why else do you think he applied for bail in the LHC if there was no FIR against him. I know you want to oppose what the CJ does at all costs but you need to get you facts straight.
@sara: @Lol'd: There is no FIR against him. There is no evidence that he aided and abetted, only an assumption that being a dad, he "must" have helped him. In civilized countries, and civilized courts, this is not admissible evidence.
And where is Asif Lund in all this drama?? Admin dont delete my comment, Lund is actually his real name.
@Jibran: Sikandar Jatoi's guilt is that he aided and abetted a fugitive (his son) in running away.
@Jibran He has been aiding his son's escape. His son is living somewhere in Dubai in a castle owned by his Dads business partner. His influence got his son a second passport and a Dubai ticket on someone elses name. He has been influencing police and eye witness accounts.
Trust me Sikander Jatoi is very very influential. Its his bad luck that shahrrukh killed somoen belonging to an influential and educated family otherwise who knows how many innocents blood is on these peoples hands.
The term for the worldwide organized Italian mafia is "Cosa Nostra" = Our Thing! The same codes of honour and loyalty applies in this case for all the Waderas and their political power......it is "Our Thing" to protect the life of Jatoi´s son.
I personally think Sikander Jatoi should have been House arrested since the old man is the father of the one of the accused and carries medical condition and is not involved directly. Police should be making more efforts for release of Sharukh from Dubai.
""Sikandar’s counsel Manzoor Ansari informed the court that his client is diabetic and is a heart patient ""
My heart bleeds for him being so sick. Time for his son to take care of his father who aided and abetted his escape.
@Jibran: Try aiding and abetting. In case you missed the program on express where he all but admitted that he sent his son out of the country after the incident. Harboring a fugitive of the law. I could come up with more if I look into my old college books but I think you get the picture.
It is good to see some actions and results taking place in this case. I am really surprised the Court hasn't even noticed the 100+ death toll in Quetta yesterday. Does that case also not demand inquiries and actions ?
Miscarriage of Justice. Speaks volumes about the dirty tactics of our police and judiciary. What's his guilt, is only known best to them!
Thank you Chief Justice
It's just a matter of time before he uses his money and influence to pay his way out of this whole thing. Sindh Police arresting Sindh Waderas..? The time for that is near, but has not transpired yet and will not do so while this govt is in power.
