Kabaddi tournament: ‘Culture, norms should be passed on’

Commissioner Hussain says that the tournament will help foster better India-Pakistan relations.

FAISALABAD: Pakistan’s rich culture, norms and values must be transferred to the youth, Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF) Vice Chancellor Dr Zakir Hussain said on Thursday. He was speaking to members of the Indian Punjab Kabaddi Team at a function hosted by GCUF at Iqbal Hall in connection with the Second Commissioner Faisalabad International Gold Cup Kabaddi Tournament. The Commissioner Tahir Hussain was also present on the occasion. The GCUF VC said kabaddi was the traditional game of the Punjab. He said it was one of Pakistan’s most popular games and was gaining recognition throughout the world. He also expressed his concern over the decline of sports activities among the youth. Commissioner Hussain said the tournament will help foster better India-Pakistan relations.

Randher Singh from the Indian team thanked the hosts for the warm welcome.
