The petitioner’s stance was that since Qadri holds Canadian nationality, constitutionally, he was not allowed to hold a long march, protest or rally.
The court rejected the plea and dismissed the case.
This is one of many petitions being lodged against the upcoming million-man march on January 14 which Qadri announced in his speech at Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore.
Petitioners in other courts, including the Lahore High Court (LHC) and the Supreme Court, have maintained similar stances.
The petition filed in the SC maintained that if Qadri has any reservations regarding the current democratic system, then he should take up constitutional methods to protest against it.
A petition was filed in the Lahore registry of the Supreme Court, asking the court to stop Qadri and Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain from political activities in Pakistan because they are both “foreign nationals and unable to become members of parliament”.
The one filed in the LHC prayed to the court give orders against the long march and initiate proceedings against Qadri as the march was against the state and was a conspiracy to abrogate the Constitution.

CJ can't dare to stop the march and participation of Quadari , Altaf bhai and Musssrraf from participsting in the next election as they are living out due to law and order problem in the country .
So what if Qadri is a dual national. Cant a dual national be a patriotic Pakistani? Lets not forget the contributions made by Pakistanis overseas. And most of all Qadri is not contesting elections so it is NOT even relevant whether he is a dual national or not. Let us see what his objectives are, are after looking at almost all of his statements I do not think any Pakistani can disagree his agenda. The man demands the same change we ALL want......help him instead of criticising him!

Remember 11 dual national Parliamentarians are stilll MPs..who have the courage to misdeclare as dual nationals at the time of filing of nomination papers, then get elected as peoples representatives..while Dr Qadri has not done that yet....sio what is all this panic about...what is the difference between Dr Qadri & others is....Dr Qadri had the guts to expose that without electoral reforms ( draft of which has been agreed by all the present members of Parliament ) how can election take place...the agreed draft of electoral reforms is not seeing the day because it will then go against the present politicians...is this too much Dr Qadri is asking ?
the other issue is to end dynastic political parties by arranging LG election which is as per our constitution, made by these Parliamentarians, yet they have not done that & SC has already passed order to arrange LG election but the govt in connivance with all political parties not yet done....because the present political parties do not want people to come up from grass root level & want to maintain their grip on its party......Is Dr Qadri wrong in this ?
EC says to have intra-party election..so, why till today most of the parties not done...is this democracy when not maintaining democratic norm with ones own party ? Is Dr Qadri wrong on this issue ?
There is no power given to EC.It is not independent...Is Dr Qadri wrong on this issue ?These are some of the issues which Dr Qadri has exposed, whether he is a Canadian or not...even your own Dr Asim - physian by profession ( Ex minister for Petroleum & mineral resources ) now made Adviser after being disqualified as dual national by SC...no wonder our energy sector is in a mess...& R Malik our interior minister too was a UK national till he got disqualified by SC...& Ms Farah Naz ( US citizen ) wife of H Haqqani also disqualified by SC....at least Dr Qadri has not yet contested & if at any stage he does that he will follow rules & law unlike the many dual nationals - some disqualified & some still staying put in defiance & in sha Allah will be disqualified soon....
So, what is the panic about unless you are another accomplice in the corrupt system....but remember you will also be included by Allah swt as an accomplice....

@mozan: I think Qadri is a dual citizen of Canada, which means he is as equal citizen of Pakistan as everyone else.
I think Democratic force should March to Canadian High Commission against Canadian Agent.
Our Judiciary only acts where something is against PPP or GOVT. Qadri is trying to involve Judiciary in Caretaker Govt. how or Judiciary and act against him. If Qadris Followers robe shops and damage property who will be responsible for this act. I am sure Qadri will flee to Canada.
