SWAT: Security plans have been finalised for celebrating Eidul Fitr in Mingora in Swat to avoid unpleasant incidents. Security of sensitive areas has also been beefed up.

Extra police personnel have been deployed and leaves of police officers have been cancelled. Officials say that entrances to Mingora Bazazar are strictly being monitored, adding that security officials have been asked to maintain strict vigilance in their respective areas. They have also been directed to closely monitor suspicious activity.

Stressing the need for keeping an eye on dubious characters, DPO Swat Ghulam Farooq said: “A foolproof security plan has been prepared to avoid any untoward incident in Swat.” He said that people should immediately inform the police if they come across anything suspicious. “We need the cooperation of the people for effective security.”

Law-enforcement agencies have urged the people to be extra careful in crowded places.

Security forces have posted a list of 19 most-wanted terrorists in the Kanju area in Kabal tehsil, asking them to surrender before Eidul Fitr or be ready to face strict legal action.
