PAT believes in a democratic system where only non-corrupt people are elected in legislative bodies, says PAT's provincial president.

PESHAWAR:

Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) on Tuesday appealed to influential clerics to persuade their followers to participate in the January 14 long march, which they claim will change the course of future politics in the country.

In a gathering of the political wing of Minhajul Quran Trust, PAT’s provincial president Khalid Durrani said the government was letting foreign forces use the country’s limited resources, while its people were languishing in poverty.

Durrani said it is almost impossible for an ordinary political activist to run for national and provincial assemblies without influential backing or millions to spend on election campaigns.

He added PAT believes in a democratic system where only non-corrupt people are elected in legislative bodies. He went on say that the only way to get rid of the present system was to participate in the long march.
