KARACHI: The Korangi Industrial Area (KIA) will set up two reverse osmosis (RO) plants having a capacity of two million gallons per day each to supply water to the water deficient industries. The announcement was made by the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) Managing Director Misbahuddin Farid at a meeting with the chairman and office bearers of the Korangi Association of Trade and industry (KATI) on Tuesday. He said the summary for the installation of two plants had been sent to the chief minister already and his approval was being awaited. He said that following installation of the plants, Korangi’s industries will be receiving four million gallons additional water per day, which will resolve the issue of water shortages in the industrial zones.
