According to Radio Pakistan, Malik told media at Karachi airport that the government was working on providing complete security to the “million-man” march participants.
He said his ministry has estimated expenses worth Rs250 million will be incurred for providing security to the march.
Explaining the security measures, Malik said no one will be allowed to enter Islamabad without computerised national identification documents and that the owners of hired buses must carry relevant papers with them.
Responding to a question, the interior minister said the government was not supporting the long march.
Speaking about threats, Malik said snake bites and cold weather could also pose problems to the participants.
