Qadri was speaking to media in Lahore after a meeting with the leaders of Majlis Wahdatul Muslimeen (MWM). The MWM has announced to take part in Qadri’s much-hyped “million-man” march.
Rubbishing accusations of him being backed by the establishment or other forces, Qadri said he has the support of God and the people of Pakistan only.
Responding to rumours about the government considering putting him under house-arrest, the MQI chief said no power can stop him from leading the long march.
Claiming that the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has denied planning an attack on his march, Qadri warned government against attempting to create hindrances for him.
Explaining the organisation of the march, the MQI chief said participants from Lahore and surrounding areas will start their journey with him from the city while others will reach Islamabad directly.
“We will stay in Islamabad until the government gives us assurance that it will give people their due rights,” he added.
On multiple queries from various journalists, Qadri said he will make important announcements in two major meetings on days prior to the march.
