One of the boys, Haider, survived but the family is reluctant to give any details of what state he is in as they are afraid the attackers will come after them again. According to reports, he suffered from severe internal bleeding and one side of his entire buccal cavity, his jawbone and teeth were destroyed. His respiratory tract was also affected. The boys were attacked by two shots from a pistol fitted with a silencer when they had stopped at a tyre puncture shop.
Dr Qadri who is the senior resident medical officer at Lyari General Hospital has shut his private evening clinic in Bihar Colony and gone underground with the rest of his family. “I live in a war zone,” he told The Express Tribune over the telephone. “Before the attack this area was safe for me but not anymore.”
The Kalri police registered an FIR but no one was nominated in it. The attackers were put down as ‘unidentified’. There has been no investigation, the father said. At least none that they have kept him abreast of.
Some friends and the nationalist Awami Jamhoori Party have supported Dr Qadri and a protest is planned outside the Karachi Press Club at 11am on Tuesday.

@Tariq Raza: What proof do you have of that? or did you just hear that from someone else as well?
@O2: i dont know how to reply the suggestion to use my brain as ET will eat my whole comment. anyway, re. navy, didnt u read the news of some taliban guys under custody of navy intelligence? this theory got saleem shahzad (the reporter) killed when he was about to break some important link of the attack.for analysis, u need to read more than one page and bury the bias. anyway, even if we accept ur theory that pakistani taliban have nothing to do with afghan taliban, why dont afghan taliban denounce them? if u call it media bias, they can denounce it on their way up or down paris or qatar.
The killers should be brought to justice, how long will we tolerate this bloodshed of innocent lives?
They were killed by Sipah e Sahaba Sectarian killing
@KHURRAM: Totally agree with you. Karachiites should stand up now, just the way they stood up for Shazib.
@roadkashehzada: They have condemned them numerous times, maybe you don't read such news.
What benefit did Afghan Taliban get from bombing Mehran Base where P-3 Orion were destroyed ? Those air craft's were so vital for protection of our sea shore & had no connection with Afghan border! They were destroyed to weaken our defence on the sea shores where no Taliban's are fighting. Please use your brain when you analyse things next time :) TTP are foreign backed mercenaries whereas real Taliban's are only in Afghanistan.
Citizens have to be blamed for thier miseries, as they time and again elect and support people who turn against them. If we hold another elections we will see same faces re elected by these victims of violence.
@O2: why we have soft corner for taliban?why we think they cant go wrong? if TTP is using taliban's name, why dont the "real" taliban disown and condemn them??
@Paco Osuna: Things are different in Karachi, this incident is most probably related to the same criminals who have hijacked Karachi. Everything is not Taliban in Pakistan nor Taliban's are targeting Pakistanis, only TTP does, which is using Taliban's name but is not in anyway connected to Afghan Taliban's & their sole objective is to destabilize Pakistan.
Taliban?
