KARACHI: The supply of natural gas to consumers in the city will start improving from Monday (today), said the adviser to the prime minister for petroleum and natural resources, Dr Asim Hussain. He was speaking during a news conference at the Sui Southern Gas Company Limited head office on Saturday. Hussain said that authorities had drafted a plan to ensure an uninterrupted gas supply to consumers in winter. The gas shortage has occurred due to the bad policies of the previous government, which didn’t explore gas reserves in the country, alleged Hussain. The current government has taken various measures to tackle the situation, he added. He pointed out that CNG stations and industrial consumers were prohibited from extending additional connections, which would help conserve gas. Senior SSGC officials were also present on the occasion.
