Swabi: House of NGO worker blown up

No casualties were reported in the explosion.

SWABI: The house of an NGO worker was partially destroyed when explosives planted by unidentified militants went off in Badshahi village of Swabi district on Sunday.

Kalu Khan police SHO Fayaz Khan said that he was informed about militants detonating a bomb planted near the house of Khan Muhammad, who is the CEO of the Centre of Excellence for Rural Development. He said that his team rushed to the site and surrounded the area, adding that the main gate and the boundary wall of his house was partially destroyed by the impact of the explosion.



The SHO added that after sometime, a police personal spotted another bomb planted by the boundary wall of the adjacent house and hujra, adding that the Bomb Disposal Squad defused the second bomb, which weighed around five kilogrammes. No casualties were reported in the explosion.

Muhammad added that last Monday unidentified assailants tried to kidnap his father Fazal Muhammad near his house, but his family members opened fire at the men, who managed to escape.
