DI KHAN: Two people, including Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) local leader Sahibzada Abdul Salam Shirani, were killed and five others sustained injuries in a firing incident in Dera Ismail Khan, Express News reported on Saturday.

According to initial details, two armed men opened fire at a hotel in the area, killing two.

Police has reached the spot and cordoned off the area.

DI Khan is one of the districts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa ravaged by sectarian strife. At least 10 people were killed and several others injured on November 24 when a remote-controlled bomb targeted a Muharram procession on the outskirts of the city. The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan claimed responsibility and warned of more attacks.
