Without directly referring to Dr Tahirul Qadri, Pakistan Muslim League –Nawaz lawmakers submitted a resolution seemingly accusing the controversial politician.

The resolution, which was to be taken up by the house on Friday, could not be tabled as the assembly fell short of time.  A unanimous resolution is likely to be adopted on Monday. The copy of the resolution available with The Express Tribune reads that some people are bent on rolling back democracy at a time when the assembly is going to complete it tenure. ‘Some people who consider Islam as their property are not only engaged in negative propaganda against the religion, but are also trying to derail democracy by demanding electoral reforms at a crucial time to postpone elections,’ it says. This assembly rejects undemocratic tactics of unelected persons and calls on the Election Commission of Pakistan to go on with its polls preparations, it further said, adding: “This assembly calls on all political forces to unite against all conspiracies against democracy and sabotaging of political process.”
