Blasts: Man killed, three injured in Orakzai Agency explosions

A man was killed and three others injured in two remote-controlled explosions in Hassanzai Darra area of Lower Orakzai Agency on Thursday morning.


The two explosions occurred at around 8am near a shop in Orakzai Market in Hassanzai Darra, said Fazal Qadir, the assistant political agent (APA) of Lower Orakzai Agency.

The bombs were planted outside the shop of Mamoo Khan, he said, adding that the man killed in the explosion was identified as Mir Nazir, a resident of Zakha Khel area of Khyber Agency.

The three others injured, identified as Asghar Khan, Muhammad Hakeem and Gul Mir are locals.

Security and paramilitary forces shifted the injured to the Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar, where the condition of Khan and Hakeem is critical. Gul was discharged after receiving first aid.

Qadir, the Orakzai Agnecy APA, said the security agencies could not determine how much explosive material was used in the two blasts.
