TIMERGARA: The Teachers Coordination Council in Lower Dir warned on Wednesday to boycott election duties if the proposed recommendations of the pay and pension committee are not approved before the upcoming polls. A meeting of the council was held at the Education Complex and chaired by its chief Syed Muhammad Shah. Shah said the teachers’ community has expressed its concern over the delay in approval of their proposals. Shah said that the committee was established four years ago to fight for the rights of teachers and raise a voice for the purpose on all platforms. “It is surprising that the government, which is supposed to redress their issues, was now backtracking to look into their demands. Teachers are fed up with persistent inflation and our salaries are meager,” Shah added.
